There's Aquatics & Exotics on Battlefield and Cichlids & Salts on Cam(p)bell. Both are worth a visit if you've not been to either.

I'd say aquatics and exotics has the best looking stuff.

Fish, ummm..... I like Aquatics and Exotics myself. I think anyone who would go and visit would say Matt has hands down the best coral and salt water in town, but hey, if you like brown and common try C&S, and A&E gives petwarehouse to much of a run for their money!!!!!!!!!!! Brown is easier to keep and cheaper if that's what ya' like!!!!

Hi guys
well i have been a saltwater person and knowlege the best for corals . so there is a man named Fish wilson who has lat of knowledge ,. the man who has cichlids and salt also has some knowlege too but I was in matts store for the frag and I was so impressed and told Matt his Corals was the best i ever seen however the corals at Petwherehouse does not have the correct lighting and at cichlids and salt they have the correct but the do not shine to me and i have to look at what they will be in the future so this is what i say . the best corals go to matts shop because i do not have to think what they will look in future but the Quailty is the best . we should ask matt how to take care of Corals . Matt Congrats for your shop i will be a customer sometimes too

If you're looking for places outside of the Springfield area, let me suggest Exotic Tropicals in Rogers, Arkasas - hands down the best saltwater place I've been in... also, Tulsa has a handful of shops if you're looking for more variety than what there's to offer here in Springfield.

I think "Aquariums Plus" was down there a year or two ago. Probably out of business by now (again). It's difficult to stay in business when you only have two fish in stock and one of them is a freshwater molly which has been acclimated to saltwater .

I have to say a word for James at Exotic Tropicals in Rogers AR. I came into his shop armed with the "knowledge" gained from 5 months of daily investigation into reefkeeping, and NO experience. Not even freshwater. He really came through for me, and ended up building me the exact tank I wanted. It has worked flawlessly. Great customer service. It is worth the 2 hour trip.

That said, I have recently met Matt at Aquatics and Exotics in Springfield and am impressed. I am THRILLED to have a local source for the things I really want for my reef. I can see that Matt has a passion for this hobby and I think his shop will only get better and better.

I've noticed that as soon as fewell's store came into town, that C&S started getting some more variety as far as corals go - maybe it was just coincidence... I just think that it's proof that when there's competition, the person who benefits most is the customer! So, thank you fewells for starting up shop! Obviously, another BIG thank you for letting us all do swaps there also!
Just to kinda stick up for 'ol John at C&S (since neither he or his employees post in here - that I know of), the name of his store IS Cichlids and Salt. When I was into freshwater, his place was like heaven compared to the other locals. His reef fish selection has always been more than adequate - it has always been his corals that were lackluster (IMO). Like any other LFS, once you talk to him and mention what you are looking for, John can get you what you're looking for - and for best selection, show up when the livestock arrives!
