Flow restrictor and check valve question
Just got my order from you for the new round of cartridges and DI for my Filter Direct and the Coralife rodi units.
Everything arrived in perfect condition--thanks. ![]() Two quick questions: 1. The Coralife unit was a 50gpd unit, but it did not have any sort of flow restrictor--what kind of problems would that cause? Note--when i ordered the new round of cartridges and membrane from you I got one of your matching flow restrictors--so it has one now. I was just curious why Coralife didn't ship the unit with one to begin with? 2. On the Filter Direct unit I can't really tell if the fitting coming out of the membrane housing is a check valve or not--they two fitting on that end of the housing look the same. Should I just add a BFS 112, or is the BFS 243 required? Also, if the current fitting does happen to be a check valve--would adding the BFS 112 cause a problem as I would then have two check valves? Thanks so much for all your help. I left you guys some feedback in the vendor area. ![]()

Thanks for the info--I can't find anything that even remotely looks like a flow restrictor on the Coralife unit. Basically the line comes out of the membrane straight to the drain.
It was producing water before, but the TDS was always through the roof. Regardless--now I'm getting 0 TDS and it seems to be functioning much better. Thanks!!!
