Ive had my haddoni for about 2 weeks now and the clown havent even looked at it. They're ocellaris clown. Ive had them for abour 1.5 years. They were also tank raise to, so i think they lost their ability to host in anemones or doesnt need one. I'll try to get a baby ocellaris or a small clarki. How big was ur clown when u got ur anemone?

I was given a tomato as a present from a friend. The tomato is currently swimming pass the anemone and staying on top of it but it isnt staying on the tentacles yet. Would it need more time and would it be possible for a tomato to host my haddoni?

This is a common misconception. Clownfish never loose their instincts to host anemones. You do realize A. Ocellaris don't naturally host S. Haddoni right? That is why they havn't hosted as of yet.

Ocellaris and E. Quadricolor (BTA) are not naturally found together as well. Clarkiis will definately host your Haddoni though.

My blue Haddoni, which has had the clown hosting with it for six years just recently triend to consume her. She is a 5.5 inch GSM. She is the only clownfish that can handle the carpet. I have lost picassos, snowflakes, WC true percs and ocellaris to this haddoni. So i wouldnt be in too much of a hurry to get your clown in there.

Hey thanks for the advice. I think i might just get a clarkii clown then. Since they host almost anykind of anemone they can get in the tank with them Also is there anything as a white haddoni? Since my haddoni is white. It was like that at the LFS and its been in a tank for about 2 weeks now its starting to get greener.

Yea, thats what ive been thinking too. How much do u think a carpet can get fish credit cause i was thinking of trading it for a BTA. Its about 4 inches across when fully expand. But i might just keep it if i get some clarkii though and if they host in it.

No such thing as a healthy haddoni that is white. Keep doing what you are doing and it will slowly gain back its color.

I have a pair of clarkiis with my haddonis. The female goes in it more, the male seems to prefer the BTA for some reason. Most of the time the female will sleep in the haddoni and the male in the BTA. However shortly after each spawn she will spend a few nights in th BTA. Back when I had the yellow/tan haddoni in my other tank I had a pair of saddleback with it -- they would never leave it.

I'm currently feeding it silversides once every 2 days. Im feeding it more often cause its seems bleach, but now its gainin its color back. How long did ur clarki take to host in ur haddoni?

I moved it into that tank about a year ago, but if my memory severs it took them all of a couple of hours to find it. Though they have yet to go into my blue one.

Should be noted that this pair were also hosted by a Condy about 5 years ago, which is not a natural host for any clown.

Ive heard that they have some sort of symbiosis with the condy in the home aquarium. Would it be better to get one small clark or is it better to get two?

I don't think that is true, a condy will just as soon eat a clown as host one.

That is up to you, I personally like pairs of clowns, I have 3 pairs ( 3 different tanks ). But I would wait a little bit and let your haddoni get fully healthy. Since it seems to be on its way back, I wouldn't and any stress to it.
