These bad good?

I am looking for very simple lights and was wondering if halogen are ok? Or are they bad? I kinda like these because there very stylish and I can have them far away from the tank. As these will be going on a fuge like tank with no coral just LR and some cheato or the like.

there not going to be beneficial, but as far as providing light they'll do the job... just be careful, lights that are not meant for aquarium use can cause you alot of problems...

I know that coral life makes a 50/50 compact for about 13 bucks at petco and that will make a better light for a fuge so you could get that fixture if you like then just screw the other bulb into it but I would just get one of those clip on lights that you can get at home depot. 20 bucks with correct light for the fuge.

yeah I was thinking about doing that too as I already have the clip lights but they are rather large compared to a simple halogen lamp. This is a a shallow fuge tank(24"x24"x6") made for display and want something small and provides kinda like a spot light so I can keep it farther away from the tank. These will will be mounted on the sides of the tank and will not be above the tank so the evaporation will not get them directly so I would think that I wouldn't have a huge problem with these. BUT I want other peoples opinion before I go buy anything else.

this is why I thought it would be ok to use halogen because this is made for aquarium and has halogen
