mantis or pistol shrimp?

hey everybody, I keep hearing a single pop coming from my tank, i couldn't remember if it is likely a mantis or pistol by being just on pop..can you enlighten me pleasssssssssse.. don't mind either way if it is another mantis will just give ole kermit a roommate.

In general.......a mantis will make a single pop and pistol shrimp will make 2 quick pops or a series. Pistol pops are also like ticks and the mantis is more of a dull thud. These are very general guidelines however and either one can make various sounds.

thanks howard, i couldn't remember anything. okay so i just gotta figure out which rock he is in and kermit will have a friend..hopefully they wont kill each other.
