Video of Randall's Goby & Tiger Pistol

Well I finally was able to get a tiger pistol yesterday, he paired with my Randall's over night! They have been working on their tunnels all day, I was able to get a short video of them in the front of the tank. Enjoy, I am so excited they paired up!

I think that is really neat how they work together. I saw that on a TV show the other day, and it made me really want a pair!

Yeah its really cool, my goby is out alot more now. They have about 6 exits throughout the left pillar of my rockwork now

Also I got to see the shrimp snap, its amazingly loud for his size!

Think of something metal lightly tapping on glass, about the same sound... its a click sound, not annoying at all but for the size its funny they can make a sound like that.

IDK maybe a different species of pistol? I watched him do it and it was no where near loud enough to be anything annoying, the fans in my sunpod are almost louder.

I believe all shrimp gobys (Randall's, Yellow Watchman, Yasha etc..) will form a symbiotic relation ship with pistols, but not all types of pistols the ones I know for sure are the Randall's Pistol and Tiger Pistol. I know the Bullseye pistols do not form relationships.

Here is a picture of my tiger acclimating, got him for rockin reef

Here is a randalls.

Yep, so any shrimp goby should hopefully pair up with them. Mine paired up over night, though I am sure it helps that I have a smaller tank so they are more likely to run into each other.

the pistol is in my 16" cube so it shouldnt be hard for them to find each other.

Ah yeah hopefully they would pair up fast then! The best part is the goby is out much more, he used to just hide in the rock work and had a few areas he would come out for food and at night... Now he stands guard outside of the tunnels in the front of the tank all of the time.
