Placement and how many Vortech's for a wave in a 48x48x25 cube?

I have a 48x48x25 cube with 3/4" front and sides and a 1" back (because of an external overflow). I know you are working on a version for 1" thick tanks, but maybe to get a wave I'll have to put them on the sides anyways???

Do you know how many I would need and where I would have to place them to get a wave? Also take into consideration that I have a single overflow on the back side. Having a wave go from front to back would probably cause the overflow to not get water when the wave peaks in the center.

Hope I didn't confuse you...

Here is an image of the tank before I filled it so you can see what I'm talking about.

First of all nice tank. Where did you get that gem? I gotta come and see that.

2+ depending on how tall of a wave you want. probably 4 would be the best. 2 on each side. Maybe even 6, 3 on each side. That would be pretty impressive to see. I have a spare pump I can bring by for you to check out. I'm sure 1 will not make much of a wave but you can see what this thing is capable of.

I would start with 2 and place them on the left side 8" down and around 18" apart. you will get a nice wave. How do you plan on keeping you sons hands off of it though?

I'm more worried about how they will look on the side of my tank then my son touching them. I wish I could put them on the back, but that's 1" thick.

They don't look bad at all. I am putting min on the sides. Friends keep asking me how I drilled my tank. They mount really clean.

Take Fuppets offer on the pump test. That will give you a better idea of its possibilities.

I just wonder if one will be enough since I have six modded 6025's and penductors on my return already.

I don't think one will be enough to get an even wave. you might be able to get rid of a couple 6025s though.
