Brown Acro
I have a few acros in my tank that are brown and won't seem to color up. I have a 135 gallon tank and all paremeters are fine. Nitrate 1ppm. I have three 250 watt 14,000K HQI Bulbs with atinics running a total of about 1100 watts. The bulbs have just been replaced within the last two months. I thought that was the reason but it was not. I'm stumped to why they will not color up. My Stag has blue tips but a complete brown stem and base. I never do water changes and I'm starting to think maybe that is the cause. I have a refugium that keeps my tanks Nitrate down, and I dose trace elements. If anyone has ideas please let me know before I start doing unessessary experiments.

How long have they been in the tank. What kind of lighting did they come form.Alot of the stag have just a colored tip and the rest brown or green. what are your po4 readings. And imo even if you have 1ppm of no3 you should still to water change to replace trace elements.maybe not as often but every now and then.
