using an RO/DI unit

hey guys i guess i'm completly unsure of the use of an RO/DI unit. can i turn the water source on and off and just have it be in use when i'm going to be needing water for a change? and would i just hook it up to a water source such as the sink in my extra storage room or would i have to directly hook it up to my main water source line?

Yes you can turn it off and on. There are a number of ways to do it.

And yes you can connect it to your sink or to most any source of cold water supply. Do not hook it up to your hot water supply as it will use your filters up very quickly.

Try to keep the PSI supply water at around 60PSI or more.
