Crazy, are you still running a Radium—in your latest pics?

WOW good eye dude, I am currently experimenting with a bulb combo of a 250w XM 20k and a 400w Reeflux 12k all in my pendant.

The bulbs are side by side and the XM turns on for 8hrs 11am-7pm, the Reeflux turns on for 6hrs 12pm-6pm. Looks great when both are on, I'm still experimenting with hours and may lessen the 400w reeflux to 5hrs next week.

It certianly makes your colors POP a lot more... I like both those bulbs. I've seen some great tanks under that Reeflux 12K. How did you fit two bulbs in the Lumenarc? Is it HOT...?!

I placed 2 sockets side by side with about a inch gap in between it fits pretty nicely. It does get very HOT when they are both on but my chiller has no problem cooling the tank, I don't like the look of fans and so I will probably bump down the 400w to 4hrs in two weeks.

In any case, I wish you the best of luck in nursing it back to health. I agree with James that infection is its biggest threat at this point. Garlic-soaked nori may provide some benefit as well. Keep us posted.
Sorry about your BT- but I do agree with above.
keeps us posted and good luck- great tank.

crazy4acros - great job and congrats on winning thread of the month! im starting over with my 220 gallon and want to go with a minimalist approach and a creative approach to aquascaping. yours has been the best example i've found.

hate to ask this, but ive' been through about 50% of this thread so far. aside from the first pago or so, is there anywhere oyu give a more detailed, step by step approach to how you did this? Maybe with some extra pics?

I'm so sorry but I did not take any pics when I was doing the aquascape, I was just winging it as I went on and came out with the end result. It is very hard to explain or teach due to many variables, for example not all the rock are the same some are more fragile than others, or some may not need any rods at all and just zip ties to hold it together. It is just one of those things where you would have to just give it a shot and see what works with the rocks you have. I will try to post a pic and point out where my rods are.

I don't recall mentioning "big als" but anyway here are some pics to give you an idea on how the rods/pins and zip ties are working together.

RED = Rods

GREEN = Zip ties

crazy - do you find that the cardinalfish tend to be more active at night? or have you been able to adjust their diet such that they are more active in the day? I've noticed mine tend to stay under the overhangs/etc. Still love how they school about. Are your still sticking together?

My cardinals are all over the place, weird it's almost as if they pair up together and swim around the tank. I'm guessing that there is no big fish to spook them and so they swim freely through out the tank. They will also all gather up in front of the tank whenever anyone walks up to it thinking it's time to feed, they have adjusted to feeding during the day when the lights are on. Also they only school from one end to the other when I’m cleaning the glass with the Magfloat.

They pack together tightly and hang out under the overhang when the lights go out. My red spots are always out above the overhang in the open water playing in the current and my Anthias are attention hogs, they follow you hehehe.

As many of us have been inspired by this thread/aquascape build. I am finally settled in afterm y move and have reconstructed some of my rock work to incorporate a much more open look and solid structure. I will post some photos of my first structure later today. I can't build the other structure until I drain the holding tank and assemble those rocks should look pretty good when I am done.
