HELP: 1" white cocoon in substrate????
We recently put 5 strawberry conchs in our tank. Since adding them we occasionally would notice a white spider web substance stuck to the reef or floating in the water. On one occasion our blue striped leg crab was covered in it (may have been harassing a conch???). Just the other day I found what appears to be a 1" cocoon in the substrate. It is pretty solid, but looks like web mixed with substrate. What could it be? Should I take it out? Could it be eggs and from what?
In that particular area a percula clown is always "digging" or swirling around the substrate and seems to hang around the area???? We just switched from a 90 gal to 150 gal and when we dismantled we eliminated our 6 line wrasse. So we don't have a wrasse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
