Can I use this for a storage container for Ro/DI ?

There is a guy localy selling 55g plastic food grade sealed drums ( just has the two holes on top )

I called him up and he confirmed they were food grade but also told me they had been sprayed with teflon and food grade glycerin had been stored in the containers.

Although it is a great price on them, price wont matter if it is going to contaminiate the water.

Been all day with no votes or responses. Just bumping before I turn the guy down with not enough info.

Any pointers of suggestions would help.

You use to be in Sacramento right? How is the new area?

A bunch of us at mars just bought a bunch of these 545 gallon blue food grade drums just to do what you plan on.

SO yes you can use them

i would think they'd be ok if they previously had food products in them. i'm using a couple 55 gal drums for my setup. they previously had syrup for pepsi in them. no problems using them.

I use two such containers. Mine came from coca-cola company that used them for syrup.

I made a few modifications (as seen in the pic) and they work AWESOME! They are in my garage so the 'salt water reservoir' needed insulation to keep the water warm during the winter.
