Talking Helpful ProfiLux settings

I thought it would be a good idea to set up a database of users settings to help others out, an area where people new to profiLux can refer to.

setting s such as -

Tunze stream settings

Low nutrient dosing set up

ATO via dosing pump without PL

ATO via doing pump with PL

Wiring diagram of ballast for dimming (one for Mike Mshur!)

LED light set up.

Screen shots of the above will help a lot!

And any others you may feel of use to others. This is an open idea so please use it as you feel fit. I will then make it sticky!

All helps make this forum an even better community.

Thanks for your input in advance.

Mike,
I would gladly help ,but we use wiring diagram which comes with dimmiable ballasts. One thing i would pointed is EVG card has to have constant power to it.

Super Wave Action

Here are my settings for two Tunze 6100s on opposite sides of a 6' tank. I have one at the top and one about 1/3 up from the bottom. I get a HUGE wave, approx 1.5 - 2" (for the size of the tank) with these settings:

I have the Tunzes connected to L1/L2.

Group 1/Pump 1:
  • Mode: Permanent
    Waves: Right Angeled Waves SHORT
    Duration: 0.8 s
    Random wave action: 0

Group 2/Pump 2:
  • Mode: Permanent Opposite
    Waves: Right Angeled Waves SHORT
    Duration: 0.8 s
    Random wave action: 0

Maximum/Minimum
Pump 1: 100%/30%
Pump 2: 99%/31%

I use 60% decrease at night and "at minimum" for my feeding pause. I like the food to be swirled around the tank so all the fish get a chance to get some.

I hope this helps.

L port voltage should also be ajusted to low 3v, high 8v when used with Tunze.

boboxx, is there a reason for adjusting it to those numbers? I've kept those settings for 1v to 10v, are there disadvantages to doing this?

I was told that the operaion max voltage by Tunze was 8v

now the low is to prevent the powerhead to go to low and not be able to startup... this is not happening on all Tunze and is just a safe value.

I agree. You should set your Tunzes at 3v-8v.

If you search way way back in this forum, Matthias recommended those settings for Tunzes.

AWC and ATO

I have everything under a timer, that is the best way to do this in my opinion....

Try or do the following.
Timer 1(or whatever you want) Discarting old
12:00 AM - 12:16 AM = 1000 ml
12:32 AM - 12:48 AM = 1000 ml
01:04 AM - 01:20 AM = 1000 ml
01:36 AM - 01:52 AM = 1000 ml

Timer 2 (or wahtever you want) new water
02:00 AM - 02:16 AM = 1000 ml
02:32 AM - 02:48 AM = 1000 ml
03:04 AM - 03:20 AM = 1000 ml
03:36 AM - 03:52 AM = 1000 ml

Now set the S4 to Timer 1
Now set the S3 to Timer 2

Also set your failsafe to atleast 4 hours.

Now for the programmable logic for the S11 (this will disable your ATO while the water change is occuring)

Configure timer 3 to the following
04:00 AM - 11:59 PM

Configure a new PRogrammable Logic 1 to

Timer 3
and
Water 1

After go to socket S11 and set it to programmable logic 1.

This should be covering everything about AWC and ATO.

Hopefully I covered it all......
