Check a LFS near you and have them order some dry sand if they don't stock it. Shipping from anywhere would be outrageous. I like Caribsea Aragamax Select sand. It is sold in a 30# bag. They also have a sugar sized.

You could try calling North American Fish Breeders out in Scarborough, I know they usually stock 40lb bags of standard Aragonite, and 30lb bags of sugar-sized. It's dry sand, not live, but it's still not cheap when you're buying in that kind of volume. Unless you're set on a DSB, you should be able to get away with a lot less than 250lbs.

I went to 100lbs of live sand and just a bag of 15lb of Aragonites on the top for the look for my 75Gallon, and I have a 2" - 2.5" deep sand bed. That 250lbs will give you probably 4" on your 120G. Is that what you wanted?
I just got mine from Big Al's, didn't want to spend time hunting as there are usually no huge price differences. I went with the Carribsea. |

cy88..yes 4-5" deep is what I'm trying to do......
and big Al's is asking for 59.99+tax for 40lb.. which will cost me about $406..... and I'm sure my wife will kill me after she find out i use that kind of money on SAND.. |
