Hours of light??
Hello All. I enjoy reading every ones posts while at work all day. How many hours are you setting your timer/lights for your RSM? I want the maximum growth from my growing collection of live coral. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind the heat factor is not in play here in Michigan ...
Does 10-12 hours sound about right?

Most corals only need about 3-4 hours of light to complete their photosynthesis per day. That being said you can run your lights anywhere from 4- 10 hours per day. Just set up the timers for when you will be most around to tank to view it. I am at home in the morning so my lights turn on early so I can see the inhabitants with the light on. The lights turn off about the time I leave, so i don't waste much energy. My lights run for about 6 hours with the daylight bulbs. the actinics run for 45 min before and after.
