sebae question

I just started feeding my sebae anemone, (myiss shrimp). As soon as I feed him he pulls all his tenticles in like he is drawing all the shrimp to his mouth , then opens back up and it looks like all the shrimp just float away. Is this normal ? Am I overfeeding it and he just takes what he needs? It looks like they all float away?
Anybody have any ideas?

When something touches them they have two responses. One is to feed. The other is to retreat. If the contact is to large or abrupt the anemone goes into self defence mode and suddenly withdraws. When this happens they will normally not consider what's on them as food and allow it to float away. You can try to avoid this by not casting a shadow on it as you feed, Feed it small pieces one at a time, and place the food on the outer tentacles with a little wiggle. Try this tomorrow after it has calmed down and let us know how it goes.

Any meaty marine food is fine. I use shrimp and fish.

When I looked at the sebae anemone today , all his tenticles looked full and open but his mouth was open. It had an eggcrate cover over it to keep my tomatoe clown off it. I took the egg crate off, the clown went right to it and his mouth closed. I left it alone. This anemone is very confusing as to what is the best thing for it.

i have a sebae and i can't get it to eat. it doesn't look good. it's mouth is never tightly shut. and i put shrimp right on it but it just sits there. and then a bristle worm comes and gets the food. my bta crawled under a rock and now it has a whole straight through it. are they both dead? they don't look dead. well my bta sort of does but it's still brown with green tentacles. please help.

How big is this bristle worm? I would be getting him out of the tank.

the bristle worm is at least 2 inches. but how can i get him out? people say there good for the tank.
