lowering salinity
Have a system that is aproximatley 525 gallons. We added all the live rock and sand and added 8 50 gallon mix bags to the system after letting it run and mix completly I tested it with my refractomer and it reads 1.032. I want the salinity at 1.025. My question is how much saltwater do I need to drain and replace with RODI water to bring it down to that salinity. Is there a calculator online anywhere?

Sorry but I cant answer your question directly, i can answer with experience that i had in lowering salinity. Remove i gallon of saltwater, replace one gallon with RO/DI....SLLLOOOOWWWLY, fish and inverts dont like quick changes.....lost livestock when i did this to quick....i know this is not the complete answer but good luck

To drop a sg of 1.032 to 1.025, you'll have to replace 22% of the actual water volume with fresh water. In essence, that is 0.78 x 32 = 25. It may seem odd, but that works out OK.
