Need help with setting up tank webcam.

What is the easiiest way for me to be able to view my tank via internet while im on vacation?

I will set my wireless laptop webcam in front of tank.

One way to do it is to set up log me in which can be downloaded at and then you can access the computer remotely and see what is going on. Viodea you can do it with a wireless webcam but that has to be connected to a computer but does not have to be hardwired. Not sure if there is other alternatives to this but I was trying to think of something like that for myself. HTH guys

If you want to do it without a computer you will need a network camera. They are about $75-100 for a fixed-position and a couple hundred if you need pan/tilt/zoom functionality. They have a little server built in so you can log into the camera and view the feed from anywhere.

If you get an IP based webcam you can pass it through your router and not need any kind of PC setup.

Your public IP shouldnt change while your on vacation but if you concerned about that setup a dyndns service.
