few questions for new nano

Not here yet, but will have 39g CAD sig tank soon.

How should I run carbon in it?

I also want to set up my first ATO, what would be everything needed to set one up and what equipment is recommended?

thanks!

I have my carbon in a media bag sandwiched between live rock rubble and filter floss in chamber 1.

As for ATO, I'm using the JBJ ATO with a AquaLifter for both my tanks. You can also make your own if you're crafty. I believe Melev has a tutorial on his site on DIY ATO.

So how does it all work, you buy the ATO and attach it to the aqualifter or do I need tubing? sorry I'm a little confused with how it works and how it is put together = /

I just received my 39g sig yesterday. I plan on adding my phosban reactor to the the first chamber. I plan on putting the pump in there on top of live rock rubble and a bag of carbon all under filter floss. Not sure if it is going to work but that is the plan.

I'm also going to use a JBJ ATO. Basically you put a pump in something under the stand that hold water. You plug the pump into the ATO unit... you run a tube from the pump to the back of the tank. Install the float or floats - depending on yoour set-up. When the float triggers the ATo unit it will turn the pump on and fill the tank to a level where the float is no longer activated. The pump will turn off and wait to do it again. I will take pictures after mine is set up. I plan on starting a build tread on it.

james, phos reactor should work fine for you tank. mine is only 25g and my PR hangs on the back of the fuge. it doesn't require a big pump, i'm currrently using a maxijet 404. i have the pump in chamber two and the return going into chamber 3.

as for the ATO, yes, you will need some airline tubing. the setup instructions are easy to follow. i have some pics of my ato set up on my tank thread. just click on the red house by my screen name.

Tom's Aqualifter will work fine for the ATO. A maxijet 404 will be sufficient for the phosban reactor. I don't think you'll need 2 reactors. You can run your carbon in a media bag and have it in chamber. This is how I have mine set up at the moment but I'm going to run carbon and GFO in my phosban reactor starting this weekend. I'll let ya know how it goes.

btw, what kind of phosban reactor are you getting?
