False Backwall..

I know some of you may have done this.

About to setup a false wall on a 20G..

If you've done it, can you post links to your threads or pics?

I don't have a false wall, it's a fake overflow to hide the pump/heater and provide surface skimming on a 5.5.

I would like to see how this is done too.

The problem with a false wall in a 20G is that the tank is narrow to begin with. Add a false wall and now you dealing with a tank that is so narrow (front to back) that its almost impossible to aquascape nicely. Narrow tanks are very difficult to deal with. I dont recommend you do it and I dont think you will find many that have done it for this reason.

Agu's version is a much more workable solution.

I can do it that way too.. Perhaps in a corner.. but i'm looking to hide a fuge with chaeto and LR rubble in addition to the heater and PH..

I'll do some measuring.

you can add a false wall the width of the tank rather than the length of the tank...your display will now be more of a cube shaped...that's one option...

That's how I did my 10g.. Wanted to something where I had more width this time around.

I did some measuring.. going to do a center overflow style design.. its about 10" wide. Should look OK.
