Question lowering alkaline in DIY rock

Ive made some DIY rock,

Its been sitting in one of those waterfall pond things in my backyard for about two weeks now. The PH is still extremly high.

Ive been doing water changes every 2 days about 50%.

Is there anyway to speed up this process?

ACtually, Im more worried about being able to actually lower it than to speed up the process. Will I be sucessful?

Any tips or hints? I read that adding vinegar to the water will help lower it but the rock itself will still be spilling out alkaline and I'm thinking the vinegar itself is just lowering the water PH.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

muriatic acid or vinegar works great
rock will leach for a month or two so several doses are required
