Red fish, Blue fish, One fish, Two fish?
My mind is swirling with possibilities right now... I need some serious help!
(multiple selections can be made in case you can't decide either... )Please help me decide the ultimate fish addition to my tank? Feel free to elaborate on your opinion as well... I can handle constructive criticism. ![]() As I haven't seen my Lamarck Angel in two days now I'm assuming the current fish list in my 125 is as follows: Scissortail Goby pair Purple Firefish Lone green chromis Atlantic Blue Tang (only one that concerns me w/ aggression...) Yellow Canary Wrasse Diamond Goby Corals include a frogspawn, a hammer, a torch, an acan, zoas, ricordia and multiple sps.

No... no more Lori's. I never saw the third one after putting them in and after a week the second one was on the sand bed with a chunk missing from it's side... don't get that as I don't have any crabs in my tank. (Well I didn't... I've got an emerald now.) The last remaining one seemed to really come out of it's shell and was bravely swimming around in the tank and then was also found on the sand bed. That last one wasn't missing any chunks though. It just had a really weird looking red colored rash on it's side. All other fish in the tank are still happy and healthy and showing no signs of parasites or disease. I've thought about lyretails many times and have almost given in many times (at one point I had a solitary female in my old 72g bowfront) but I'm just not sure. They are gorgeous but everyone has them... perhaps I should willingly follow the crowd for once in my life? Or maybe it's not following the crowd... just replicating nature... yeah, yeah... tons of ocean pics have lyretails in them right?! Hmmm... wonder if I can add another option to the poll still. EDIT: Doh! It seems only mods can do that... grr

Me too Kent... The only other time I've seen anything like that redness was a big blotch on the side of a chromis in an LFS. The only fish that seemed to pick on them was the Lamarck Angel would occassionally chase them into their hole but I never saw her nip them... and now she's MIA for the past two days. Live Aquaria online is showing some and stating they only offer the Lori's from Cook Islands and Fiji as they are properly handled which made me briefly consider trying again with a larger group (not that I have any indication these were improperly handled) but they've now lowered the price to half off which makes me raise an eyebrow...

I tried two Swallowtails before from LA and they both had issues. Upon receipt one had swimming issues and was constantly eating air bubbles in my old 72g. The second one was around long enough to move into the 125g summer 2006 and then displayed the same behavior. LA was really good with me over the phone suggesting they may have had decompression issues during collection and suggested I feed them boiled peas but they wouldn't eat them no matter how hard I tried. Now I'm nervous about trying them again...

Lyretails- and set up an autofeeder. Eheim "Feed Air" 4x per day unit is one of the best. FORGET LORI's for cryin' out loud.
go see PCIALF's reef aquarium.

So far we've got one vote for lyretails, one for cardinals, one for the regal angel and one for swallowtail angels. I really do like all of these fish... I need a bigger tank.

I'll do some searching then...
If I did go with the Lyretails, how many would you suggest? I would think like 5 but then my mind says well how about three of those and still a Regal? See... I really do have a problem as I know that would probably not be the best idea for a total fish load...

I like lyretais. Bartlets do well for me as well. If your tank is covered you could try some fairy and/or flasher wrasses. I do really like my female japanese swallow tail too.

Tank is covered.
Your swallowtail never eats any bubbles? Mind me asking your source for it? (you can pm me if you want)

I'd go with the lyretails too.
I've been burned with the "angel in a reef" gamble with my majestic. I can't keep any SPS corals in the tank because of it.

Do you mean bubble coral (plerogyra)? If so; I can't really say since my bubble coral is in a different tank. It did nip cynariana lacrymalis but nothing else. I've had her for over 3 yrs. I got her at Salt Water Paradise or A reef Creation. Can't remember which.

Oh I love wrasses but my two favorites are a little rich for my blood so I've tried to avoid them... If I had the money though I'd grab a Lineatus and/or a Laboutei. I've come very close to grabbing a Mccoskeri before. Did you pick the flashers from the wrasse section or Diver's Den? How do they look health-wise?

Diver's den. Super males with great color. They look healthy but I've had them in a no light tank all day. I'll see if they eat tomorow. Eyes are very clear ,so I don't think I need to worry about flukes which was common with them for a while several months ago. One of these days with help from you and Gary I'll hope to do a photo tour of my tanks. I just haven't been able to generate the motivation to mess with the computer and digital camera. Seems like I just spend too much time messwing with the tanks to take pictures and figure out how to p[ost them.

Well... fate handed me one decision. I will be acquiring a Tennentti Tang from a fellow member in the next few weeks once they're able to catch it.
Sooo... would it be stretching it to also add a group of 3 of either the cardinals OR the anthias? I'm so nervous about overdoing it with fish and yet there's another member here with 21 fish in his 120g... thoughts?
