URS official forum

Why is it that the URS official forum has a mandatory fee?

I hate that if I am looking for a fellow reefer, oh wait they are on forum "X", oh and I need to meet up with forum "Y", Why can't we have just one forum where everyone gets along and everyone is there?

Kinda sad, but needless to say I have found about 10 new forums where I can find most of us, or what used to be us... Now it seems like its a lot of them...

Sorry to complain Just miss the old URS

You're confused. There is no fee. You do have to register before you can post. That's so the forum isn't innundated with posts from the 100+ bots that try to register there each day.

Also, there's virtually no activity there with no new posts since June. So, clue me in, what exactly are you complaining about?

Mark

Your "fee" comment would probably get me about 40 PMs... folks seem to be real sensitive about that.

As to your registration, I'll see if I can find it amongst all the chaff. There used to be a separate registration screen that would clue me in that someone "real" had signed up.

Honestly, with so little traffic, I don't routinely check for new registrations. At this point, that forum is primarily used for folks that volunteer up at the zoo and as a place to go when RC goes down. That hasn't been happening as much recently.

Acdraindrps, I don't have a clue what you're talking about, but I'm guessing it might be better to talk about via PM if it's something I need to know about?

You know, it's entirely possible that you've solved the riddle why there haven't been any new post there since June....

I'll go take a look...

Jansenwrasse, send me a PM with the email you used when registering. I don't see any registration under "jansenwrasse". You did respond to the confirmation email?

URS Forum

Hi,

The best bet at this point would probably be to just reregister and respond to the confirmation email. Then send me a PM with the username or email address you used and I'll ensure it gets posting approval.

I don't mean to make it a hassle but you can't imagine how many automated bots there are out there that register to try to sell things, solicit porn, etc.

and it's also very wise when signing up for a forum to NOT use an AOL or Yahoo email address because the confirmation email almost always gets flagged as junk.
