There are several ways out there to get rid of byopsis. Some say they work and others don't. I have had a recent battle with this in a 90g. Things i have done are plucking it, raising the Mg, and new lights. Been on the attack of it now for about 90 days (had bryopsis really bad) and now there is hope of 75 % of it clearing up. Others might have other suggestions

I just added a fox face rabbit to my 70 to handle Bryopsis. Did a fantastic job. Might be too big for a 36 though!

I would get some big Turbos snails for a 36 with Bryopsis. Sea Hares will work, too.

I believe sea hare only take cares of the immediate problem but not in the long run. It will eat all the algae in your tank, but if it runs out it will starve to death and it doesnt attack the root system. after i returned my sea hare back to the lfs because it was starving, the bryopsis returned after a few weeks. Dosing Kent's Mg and keeping a level of around 1500 or higher seem to do the trick for me. keep it at that level for a month or longer just to make sure that every single cell of the bryopsis is dead

Many critters acvoid bryopsis. Best way to get rid of it is to take down phosphates in my opinion.

these fellas are right- lowering PO4 and/or nitrates should help curb Bryopsis growth. Limit and export while sending in the herbivores for best results.

The most common type looks like a small fern leaf. I did have a diadema urchin that ate some of it and an alysa crispa (lettuce slug). The diadema got to big and irritated coral and the lettuce slugs just don't last very long ,nor do sea hares in my experience. Niether my two bar rabbit fish nor my Foxface nor Zebrasoomas will touch it but they ae pretty well fed.

Another thought. I have been able to kill a patch or two by dribbling some kalk paste on it just like I would an aiptasia. You have to be careful not to drop too much kalk into your tank at one time though.

I started a thread myself and trying something a little different with the Mag. It seems to be working.
