newbe needs help on plastic plugs

should i remove my zoa frag from the plastic plug and glue it to a rock or can i leave it on the soda bottle cap buried in the sand??

just glue the cap to your rock, or glue it to a rock in your sand.

You could just stick the plug in the sand as well, but you will find you will get better (outward) growth if the polyps have rock to grow to. Otherwise they end up growing up in a tightly clumped ball that is in the way of itself if they are surrounded by sand and/or have nowhere to grow to.
