looking for soft start code

I just put a viper light on my tank and was wondering how to set up a soft start code in case of a power outage.

Here is my code:

LTS-A01 LIGHTS/HOOD FANS
FUG-A02 FUGE LIGHT/ FAN/ MOON LIGHTS
CHR-A03 CHILLER
CHP-A04 CHILLER PUMP
HET-A05 HEATER
ATO-A06 AUTO TOP OFF
NTL-A07 OPEN
PMP-A08 RETURN PUMP

if time > 00:00 then PMP on
if temp > 80.5 then CHP on
if temp < 79.5 then CHP off
if temp > 81.0 then CHR on
if temp < 80.0 then CHR off
if time > 8:00 then LTS on
if time > 21:00 then LTS off
if temp < 77.0 then HET on
if temp > 79.7 then HET off
if time > 08:00 then ATO on
if time >08:05 then ATO off
if time > 12:00 then ATO on
if time >12:05 then ATO off
if time > 17:00 then ATO on
if time >17:05 then ATO off
if time > 21:00 then ATO on
if time >21:03 then ATO off
IF TIME > 20:55 then FUG on
if time > 7:55 then Fug off

I am going to be adding this code also:

If Temp > 83.00 then LTS OFF
If Temp > 83.00 then HET OFF
If Temp < 75.0 then CHR OFF
If Temp < 75.0 then CHP OFF

What do you mean by 'soft start' for your light? DC8 outlets 1-2, 4-7 are all soft start; there is nothing setup but I wanted to be sure I understand what you are asking for before I assume that is it. I suspect you are referring to something about the use of the 'if power' command but I don't fully understand the question.

Ken, maybe you meant outlets 1-3 & 5-7 except 4 & 8 are soft start? I saw your other posts stating this but I can be wrong.

bad santa, this might be what you're looking for

Max Change 030 M Then LTS OFF

It will keep the light from turning back on within 30 mins after it's turned off to protect the bulb or ballast.

Yea, typo; 1-3 and 5-7are soft start; 4 and 8 are relay controlled and not soft start.

Max Change will not activate after power fail; that is what you use the 'if power xxx the AAA OFF'; where xxx is the amount of time to keep the specified device (AAA) in the state indicated (OFF).

sorry for the lack of info. I was looking for a code so the light doesnt turn off and then on in case there is a brief power outage or surge.

so the code would be?
if power 30 then LTS off

The code you show will keep the light off for 30 minutes after power returns (following a power outage).

None of the DC4 ports are soft-start; all ports on the DC4 are relay controlled.

Now a have a problem when i use my feed timer. The clock runs down to zero and doesnt power up the pumps. the chiller pump comes on about 5 min later and then the main pump comes on 2 min later. Can somebody tell me where i went wrong? Thanks

If you are talking about PMP timer; you need to turn it on:

If Time > 00:00 Then PMP ON

Then, when feed turns it off and completes it will return to the programmed state (on).

Make sense?

Oh, missed it; didn't have my glasses on

I don't see an issue; does manual on/off work correctly (thinking that the main return pump might not be friendly on port 9 (a relay port).

I must be a retard. I forgot about these lines of code:

If Feed B 010 then PMP off ( 35 min off)
If Feed B 011 then ATO off ( 36 min. off)

That is why my pumps stay off an extra 10 and 11 minutes.

Sorry Ken, I had a brain fart.

it just means the outlet power will turn on close to the start of the ac sine wave (at 0v), so a lower voltage will drive the device. (alternating current fluctuates from 0v to 110v to 0v to -110v to 0v 60x per second).

I think it helps marketing of the product
whether it is effective or not, I don't know. I do not see any difference.

thanks doughboy ... i actually understood what you said (even i am surprised ), so it will make no difference to put MH in one position over another.
