Miami Orchard Picture Request

Hi all,
If anyone has a picture of their Miami orchard colony or frag could you please post it? I am trying to get an idea of how the coral should look. Could you also describe where it is located in your system i.e high, flow, high, light, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Henry

Here is mine, sorry, it is a HORRIBLE pic. Mine is in direct flow, mid level of my 75g under 8 bulb Tek. The base has a deep purple to it, the tips are a nice light lavendar

I have never seen a nice shot of this coral. I would like to.

I was at a LFS today and he had three frags of it and can't sell any of them because they don't have a WOWness to them like most ORA corals!

Here are the best I could find of my colony. I don't have it anymore but did keep a frag.

Greg, is that coral really that lavender? I was thinking about getting a frag from him and seeing if it will turn around into a nice coral like most ORA stuff usually is.

it will keep nice bright tips in most lighting but the body will brown out in lower light. it is fast growing and very hardy but not too much WOWness imo

Thanks everyone for the responses and pictures! When I first got my colony it was poo poo brown, but I could see the potential. After a little tlc it has started to color up and is growing like a weed. I am still a little worred about the color though after seeing some your pictures. My base is still like a brownish but all new growth is light lavendar with the tips being a darker lavender.

gcarroll, buddie, tfp, Kip and Jay4Robin - what type of lights, flow and where do/did you have tht colony in your tank?

benihana - what T5's are you running?

Henry

Takes a while to get the old growth to color up like the new stuff. Trust me , I just upgraded lighting and have a tank full of 1/2 brown and 1/2 awesome sps. Been about 3 months and it is getting better.

Actually has bluer tips than shown in the pic. Grows like a weed...I had to cut my basketball-sized colony in half because it was choking out other growth in the area.
