ok, i'll play. Have had my 225g a year now...started with this a year ago..

But then came the most active fish I've ever kept (Achilles) and I had to change things around drastically, so approximately 200 lbs of LR less and 8 hrs of time spent re-doing my rockwork, my tank now looks like this

Right side

Left side

and full tank shot

None of the rock is against the wall anymore, and all three islands have big tunnels through the rock for big and small fish to swim through. Even the center island, although it may seem like it's against the wall, it's just angled that way but behind/under it is hollow for fish to swim through.

This was my 120g a few months ago. I am in the process of putting together my 240g. I just got the new rock in for that so I will post some pics as we go.

Awesome thread! Just what I was looking for!

Tangwich, I think I am going to 'borrow' some of your design ideas!! I am doing my aquascaping today. I wonder if you used supports or zip ties or epoxy or anything...

Very nice aquascape.. I would like to see this after your tank is established... I may have to try something like this. Did you use acrylic rods?

A few more

I like to have minimal LR in the DT - thus I have almost 300# in a sump along with a DSB.

Here are a few shots of our 350G:

Center Island:

Right island:

here is my 200gal. i wanted a spare look. and the arches linking the two mounds
effectively forms a vertical wall which enables a very effective gyre
(rotating around a vertical axis)
