Someone there made a good point:

You cant take a camera/lens like this

and hold it arms length away from you to view the screen and adjust the lens, it really has to be up against your face, unless it is on a tripod.

Since I don't plan to become a paparazzi, I think that lens is not going to be in my future.

I took some pics of my tank tonight with the D90 that does have the live view. I'm used to getting my face up to my canon, but it was really nice to just stand up straight look at the back screen and shoot with the little wireless remote. I think I shot about 200 pics. If I had to bend over to see through the eye hole the whole time I probably would have pooped out after 80 or so.

I saw a grip for the eos 40d that could wirelessly (or wired via cat 5 cable) connect to your home network/computer/photo desk and see using the camera, change settings and take the picture or download pics. It had great fuctionality but was a little too $$.

I just picked up some Lye last weekend at an Ace Hardware in Denton. I saw it as I was driving through, and remembered how Ace is the place to go for odd stuff. While I was there, I got two containers of Lye and a gallon of Muriatic acid.

Finally I'm going to try recharging some used DI resin, like that article in Reefkeeping Magazine described.

This evening, I decided I needed to do a little tidying up in the reef. I wanted to trim off some dead tips that have occurred due to corals touching one another, feed some majanos and aiptasia, pull out some neon GSP, etc and so on.

In the process, the pretty acropora I got from Paul Whitby came loose, of course. I glued it to a new piece of rock, and then was unable to secure that coral anywhere. It just refused to take hold.

In the process, I had to bring the frag over to the kitchen area because it was slimming heavily. I reached up to grab a paper towel to put it upon, and in the process pulled the entire roll into the sink. The only thing in the sink filled with water was a small bowl, and the roll landed right in, naturally.

Within minutes, I saw the water wicking up the roll only to ruin what was left of it, but I don't like waste. So, with the frag on a square of paper towel, I grabbed the roll and ran out to the garage. Firing up the table saw, I cut off the wet offending end, leaving me paper towel goodness.

Paul's frag is secured on a small rock, sitting on the sand for now. Tomorrow is always a new day.

You know if those corals get too big, i'd be more then happy to take some ends of them off your hands and bank them into my tank

Let's not get hasty here. That was at least $.65 worth of paper towel.

First photo post in over a week and this is what you give us? Slow day Marc?!?

In your defense, you did finally get another podcast out...

So what do you do with all the clippings of viable frags?
