What do you feed your Harlequin Tusk?

I'm getting a Harlequin Tusk Wrasse on Tuesday and I'm not sure what is the best food(s) I should feed it. Looking for what people use and what seems to work best so i can pick some up tomorrow...

Thanks,
Matt

Anything & everything....:
Ocean Nut Form 1 & 2 pellets
Kent Reef Carnivore and Herbivore pellets
Spectrum Thera + A Pellets
Mysis
Frozen Angel Formula
Raw cut Shrimp
And even Spirulina Flakes.

Honestly everything that hits the water except Nori.

I agree with everyone; they eat anything meaty. They are also very robust fish and eat a lot. If yours is reluctant to eat at first, or if you want to give all your fish a treat; open or crack a fresh clam from the supermarket and toss it in--They go nuts. BTW: this is how I've gotten Moorish Idols to eat for the 1st time.

once you get them eating there isnt an easier fish to feed....Mine would only eat mysis for about 2 weeks and then I forced him to switch....worked wanderfully

Make sure to adapt to your QT or DT tank slowly.... very sensitive to changes , so if adaptation time run properly... HT will eat anything.... if not done properly...may not feed or may die in few days... specially if salinity is very diferent in QT/DT and fish bag...

Anything meaty is the answer lol.

When trying to feed my dogface shrimp, my HT would quickly steal a whole shrimp from my dogface and then SWIM AWAY super fast with it sticking out of his mouth...he'd go stash it somewhere on the other side of the tank, not eating it because it was too big and then come back for more. What a pig.

My dogface has gotten very good at inhaling his shrimp quickly to keep it away from the HT and he'll spin around when he's doing it to keep his body between the shrimp and the HT like a basketball player dribbling the ball. The kids LOVE feeding him because of the HT's antics.

Then the HT will go back to his stashed shrimp and work on it for awhile before the dogface finds it later on. I would cut smaller pieces for the HT as well but he always seems to make sure he's fed well whether you are trying to feed him or not.

Those two fish go together like PB&J.

I also use shrimp pellets and carnivore pellets and mysis on "off" days for the puffer. The puffer only gets whole shrimp every third day.

Making sure the HT has food is a good way to save a few hermit crabs lives during the off days.
