Rust/Koralia magnet

I have always wondered.....

1. Will the rust from pump shafts, Tunze stream metal screws or other equipment cause any harm to a reef tank?

2. I noticed for Koralia PH the magnet is not 100% water proof, it jsut have a rubber seal. Will this wear over time and break down into the water and release bad stuff?

3. What about Magfloats.....

Thanks in advance.

The rust from equipment intended for saltwater use doesn't seem to cause problems in our systems. The volume tends to be very low, in any case. I'd likely discard a magnet when its seal cracked, though.
