Sticking pin wheel impeller

How to fix a sticking pin wheel impeller

The Sicce PSK-2500 pin wheel impellers will tend to stick do to the different tolerances of the plastic injection molding that they are built from. The pin wheel impellers need to spin back and forth on the plastic guide. If the injection mold comes out too thick it tends to hold the pin wheel in place to tight to spin back and forth. To correct this you need to remove the impeller.

1. Take the grey volute off the front of the motor

2. Pull the entire pin wheel and magnetic assembly out of the motor housing

3. Using a small flat head screw driver pry the small yellow disk off the center of the pin wheel impeller then pull the pin wheel impeller off.

4. Using some fine/med gain sand paper sand the plastic guide that the impeller sits on . It is easiest to wrap the sand paper around the plastic and twist it back and forth to cut it down even.

5. Reinstall the pin wheel impeller and test to see that it spins freely on the plastic guide.

6. Reinstall the yellow plastic disk on the plastic guide (make sure it snaps in place) and assemble pump back together.

This process will correct any start-up issues that you may have experienced.
