Hahaha OOPS. Melted a jar.
I was looking for a larger container for the mag that I dose. Wife had an old plastic mayo jar that was going to be used for arts & crafts for the kids so I snagged it.
Anyways, for those that have mixed up mag & water they will realize that the reaction creates a massive amount of heat. I did not think about it & added 16oz of water. Started pouring in table spoon after tablespoon of powder. I look down & the mayo jar started leaning heavily to one side as the bottom was melting haha. I picked it up and ran over to the sink. Right when I held it over the sink, the bottom opened up and it all poured out. Anyways that was my fun chemistry story for the day
