Kdocimo90,

Thank you for your post. The Blue Speckled Prawn Goby is known to burrow in substrate. Due to this, we recommend an aquarium system with a fine sand bed at the bottom. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to let us know.

Is it as much of a sandsifter as a watchman goby?

Kdocimo90,

Thank you for your response. We will be happy to look into whether the Blue Speckled Goby sifts through substrate as well as the Watchman Goby. We will also check to see if there are any more of them in quarantine. We will post with the answers as soon as possible.

And if it isnt as much of a sandsifter as a diamond watchman goby.. will you be getting any mated pairs, or shrimp paired in stock?

Kdocimo90,

Thank you for your patience while we were researching the Blue Speckled Prawn Goby. Shrimp Gobies will move sand with their mouths but generally they will capture prey floating in the water column or moving across the substrate. The non commensal, or sand sifting Gobies, of the Genus Valenciennea will constantly sift throughout the sand expelling it out their gills in search of food.

We are currently offering a Blue Speckled Prawn Goby and Tiger Pistol Shrimp through Diver’s Den for $39.99. If we can be of additional assistance, please contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699, via email at CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com, or PM us.
