Got my Ultra Precise Level Controller II (UPLC II)

So far I love it!

I'm drawing water from 25 feet away and it seems to be running around 130 ml per minute.

A few questions:

- I found that when I had a speedfitting along the way on the draw tubing, it didn't work -- it needed to be one contiguous piece of tubing to the source. Is this correct?

- Is it possible to connect the 30 foot extension available on spectrapure.com (http://spectrapure.com/St_AIR_LINE.htm)?

- Is there a "float valve" extension of the same length available or would a normal headphone extension cable work?

Thanks for your help!!

-tE

>>Hi Tony, glad you like it!

>>We have been able to successfully use push-connectors along the way, but you might just have a slightly leaky one. Maybe try another before giving up.

- Is it possible to connect the 30 foot extension available on spectrapure.com (http://spectrapure.com/St_AIR_LINE.htm)?

>>No easier than getting some clear plastic airline tubing male-male fittings and tubing from the LFS and extending the line yourself. You would have to open the UPLC up to "swap" tubings.

- Is there a "float valve" extension of the same length available or would a normal headphone extension cable work?

>>Yes, we made it so you can use 3.5mm (1/8") headphone extension cables in any length to extend the float switch.

Tony,

I'd like to add a couple of points.

We do use the push fittings on the intake line all the time, and a dab of silicone grease inside on the little o-rings can usually cure a leak.

Also, I don't know why you are drawing from 25 feet away and also needing 30 feet of sensor tube AND float switch line. Is the UPLC located halfway across a 55 foot run? Please consider putting the UPLC next to (under) the tank and draw for the entire 55 feet.

Maybe then I might consider an unbroken 55 foot length of tubing, just to be absolutely sure & safe.

Gotcha. Currently it is next to the tank and pulling from the UHE reservoir 25' away. I read in the manual that it can draw 25 feet and push over 50 so I was thinking of relocating it nearer the UHE and pushing from there (which would require long level sensor and float switch extensions). But can the UPLC draw 50 feet including about 8 feet vertical? Just to complcate things (you know me!) If I add a kalk reactor it really would need to push through there anyway, no?

Those 25 and 50 foot limits are for VERTICAL plumbing! Horizontal runs are no problem at all.

I would probably have the kalc reactor after the UPLC on the way to the sump.
