Is household Iodine ok?

Search is disabled so I thought I would just ask. Iodine at the pet store is super expensive. Can I just use the pharmacy stuff?

Thanks
Pat

There are different forms of iodine. For dosing organic types are more useful in my opinion. Antiseptic iodine can be quite toxic in excess. Here is an article by Randy Holmes Farely which shpuld be of interest:

I don't dose iodine at all, but we'd need to know more about which exact product you're considering to help much.
