FMAS Meeting & Auction Tuesday, October 27th

General Meeting - Robert Candelario and MACNA 2009 Review and Auction
When: Tuesday, October 27, 7:15pm – 10:00pm
Where: South Plantation High School, 1300 Paladin Way, Plantation

The meeting will feature a panel discussion on reefkeeping, this year's MACNA, and Robert Candelario will join us. Robert is a long-time FMAS member and co-founder of Eco Reef Aquariums in Pompano.

FMAS meetings are open to everyone including non-members. Following the meeting there will be an auction for members only. Members will need to present their membership card/badge in order to bid/buy.

The purpose of the auctions is to raise funds for the non profit FMAS organization.

The rules for the frag auction will be changing as of the next meeting on Tuesday October 27th.

1. You must be a current member to participate in the auction. That includes buying or selling. If you are not a member and want to participate you can join at the meeting or pre-register at our website FMAS1955.org using PayPal.

2. No more than 2 of each kind of item per meeting (livestock or dry goods). For example this would be no more than 2 xenia, 2 orange caps, 2 pink birds nest, etc. This applies per auction and not just per person.

3. No more than 5 pieces per seller.

4. You MUST bring your membership card/badge to the meetings. They will be required for participation.

5. There will be limited participation. We are limiting the total of items to be auctioned to 50. This will help cut down on the amount of time the auction takes so that it does not drag on.

This will be done on a first come first serve basis. You MUST register the items with Renee aka Lacy thru a pm here on RC or at [email protected].

Registration will be open 2 weeks prior to the meeting and will close the day before the meeting at 7:00 pm.

Registration for this months meeting will be open from Monday October 12 till Monday October 26 at 7:00 pm.

See you there!!!

It's almost too late for this (at least this month) but if items for the auction must be turned in, in advance, then you have a list of what will be auctioned.

Is it possible to post this list as soon as it closes? Then people will know ahead of time what will be there.

Chuck there has been no interest from anyone to bring any frags. I did not post that I was bringing some since I was sick the last couple of days. Was not sure if I was going to make it to the meeting. I am feeling a little better so I will be bringing several nice frags. I will start a new thread.

I'm just another member. But just login to paypal, you can show past payments and print that as proof, I'd assume.

Great meeting and auction!

Many thanks to our meeting's guest speaker Robert Candelario for his very informative discussion of reefkeeping...alot of useful information and questions answered for those who attended.

A big "thank you" goes to FISH TAILS (one of our great lfs sponsors located in Hallandale) for providing beautiful corals for our auction...and they donated their part of the proceeds from the auction back to the club!!! Wow!!! There were alot of nice corals auctioned for great prices...thank you to all the members who participated.
