New House + New Tank = New Build Thread!! 92 gallon Corner, 260 gallon system!

Hi everyone, last year after being layed off like the rest of the country, we moved from Florida to Iowa. We sold our 160 gallon penninsula, took what few pieces we could take and set up a 34 gallon Red Sea Max in Iowa. In May we were able to do what we thought would not be possible and we bought our first house! Well as all of you know, when you get a new place that is just another excuse to get a new tank. Funds were a little limited though so we decided not to go as big as we wanted (300+) since we were basically starting all over and we purchased a 92 gallon corner.
Here is the room where the new tank will go-

This is what the basement looked like when we moved in, we painted everything the best we could, just to make it look better, and epoxied the floors (big improvement ) ironically when we moved that big old armoir there was a hole already in the wall ready for the plumbing to run through!

And lastly this is the red sea during it's prime. Some things got fragged, and unfortunately we lost some things due to things being stung do to space.

Here is the basement after we cleaned, painted and did the epoxy on the floors, soon to be the new fish room!

Getting started on the fish room, big thanks to my nephew, a lot of help through the whole thing!

Nice clean up! That 92 corner is one of my favorite tanks. Your nephew sure is a handsome young man! Looking forward to following this.

Just got everything switched over within the last 2 weeks. Corals aren't all in their final places, and a lot of things are still getting used to the new lights. Tank has 2x 250watt DE pheonix 14k, 2x 24 watt 75/25 t5, and 2x24 blue plus t5s. I like the color but I am thinking I could go a little more blue, we'll see when it's time for new bulbs. Flow is provided by 2x tunze 6055's which will be hooked up to the Profilux unit as soon as I get the Profilux up and running. Main return is also on a SCWD to help switch up the streams. Here are current pics, still don't have everything up and runnning yet, just the necessities. Profilux, ato, and all other "toys" are still in the boxes. Will be posting more pics as soon as I start getting them out and going.
Tank Pics are all taken w/o halides on. Some with and some without flash.

Awesome-I am planning to build my home in the near future and am trying to plan the perfect system so I can incorporate it into the floor plan. Looks great! I will definitely tag along for this.

jack carp- that would be real nice to be able to set a system/house up from scratch, we were real lucky that everything worked out as good as it did for us. Everything just kinda fit perfect.

Joel- thanks, good to see you on here! Welcome to reef central!

Jennmac-thanks for the kind words. It has been an interesting year to say the least. but after taking a few steps back I think we have honestly never been happier than we are right now.

Joel- Actually not at all, no discount on anything outside the building, but all that pvc that's another story!

nice tank. I should have put you in contact with my tank stand builder. I flew him in to build the stand for my 300. He charges a fortune, but does unbelieveable work! Great build so far can't wait to see the growth!

I love your cherub angel and all your acans!

Man you really set that up perfect, gotta have all the equipment in the basement, theres just no room beneath those corner tanks. I appreciate your economical use of rubbermaid tubs for your sump and service tanks in the basement, I see you put the extra money where it really counts; in that Reeflo ORCA (ENVY!).

I have to wonder though are your lights really that white or is it just your camera? Get a Nikon! lol. Great tank, can't wait to watch it grow!

Awesome tank. It looks like a great setup.
One question, have you had any moisture or mold problems in your basement?

Thor- Funny thing is, you missed the last to payment on that stand, one more and I'll report it to your credit...!!!! lol!

ReefTek- Thanks, I love my skimmer! I actually owned it on my old system, sold it when we left Florida, then bought it back from the fellow reefer I sold it too when he decided to go with an Orca 250 Pro. He never used it, so the skimmer has only seen my tank water. Seen a lot of skimmers and I love these!

DoctaReef- Thanks, No no moisture/mold problems yet. We are runnning a dehumidifier though just for precautionary measures. It doesn't fill very fast though, and the basement is in the least bit "clammy". It is winter here though, when most people have to run humidifiers just to keep humidity levels normal. We'll see what happens in the summer.... hopefully all will still be ok.

Nice to finally see it!

Tangers,
Looks great. Are those the acans you picked up a month or so ago? Why don't mine look like that (read...jealous)? I can't wait to see your tank mature. If it winds up looking anything like your Red Sea did, I KNOW it is going to be the envy of all (including me)!

ODReef, thanks, yes some of them are the acans we picked up a month ago. The larger colony has been with me since Florida though. Brought the profilux out last night, but did not get too far... I think I'll wait. LoL. Give me a call sometime I got a couple more frags for ya and think I'm ready to see if we can get this baby automated!

Fishguy86- Sweet another 92 corner! I love this tank. The depth is just amazing! I am currently running 2x 250 watt metal halides with 4x 24watt t5's. I have the canopy up now so will see if I can get some pics to show you. These tanks are a pain to try to light. I had to do a lot of research/confirguring to get to where I am, and still don't know if that's where it should be...!

Here are some pics of the canopy, please ignore all the wires. Nothing is tacked up in it's final spot yet, and the profilux stimu-stick still has to be mounted up too. But here is a look to where we are now-

That is a nice looking setup, also great pictures, I always had a hard time taking good pics when I had a bow front.

Thanks William, yeah the pics are hard to take, even though pics of any tank are pretty hard to get without a real nice camera. I think I know what will be on my Christmas list next year, along with someone to show me how to run it!
