Mg recipe questions, if any one has experiance with it

the recipe calls for magnesium chloride hexahydrate and Epsom salt, now i cant get a hold of epsom salt locally, can any one tell me if just using MgCl will work? and also, epsom salt contains sulfates, wouldnt keeping them out of the tank be a benifit any way?

im still looking into the chemistry of it but i need a little help as you can see

im not sure if this is in the right fourm, move it to its apropriate fourm if not

You would be better off posting in the chemistry forum.
