I would like to invite people on this forum who have never been to an OMAS meeting to come out and meet the members. We are a very likeable group and really enjoy the once a month support with fellow enthusiasts.
Typically there is food and beverage provided by the club and its members with food themes that help keep it interesting. We then discuss club business and have a light talk about something reef related. We will be organizing a club buy for February, more info to come. Unfortunately this forum has turned into a place where each post you make has to be crafted in a way that certain people with an axe to grind cant get a foot hold. Most often half or more posts are made by people who are not affilated with OMAS at all. This is very sad and discouraging to people like newcomers who simply want a place to talk and get answers in non threating atomosphere. So if you are in OMAS remember to post often and positively and do not feed the trolls. We can incourage/answer with PM's and emails and a spiteful post last forever. The mods are our friends report bad threads and posters every chance you get and they will go away. Next meeting at Tim Plowmans home in Broken Arrow on Feb. 20th BTW its a tough economy visit your local stores and support local businesses.

I know me and the wife enjoy and look forward to each meeting although it's difficult to make it to all of them. If I could have got off the couch sat night we would have been there. A big thanks to all the officers and everyone who opens up their houses to us monthly and everyone who makes this club what it is.

I know this club is what keeps me going in the hobby.I do get board but then I see some of your great tanks and it inspires me to keep mine up and going.I would just like to thank everyone that does make it to the meetings. Its nice to have a family event at least once a month where we can all get together and have a great time.I really want to see more and more new faces at the meetings.

I’ve been wanting to join OMAS for a couple months now and it seems like I’ve been out of town every time you have meetings. I plan on being there this month and look forward to meeting everyone and learning a thing or two. The topic for this month’s meeting is just what I need…. I’ve been debating on buying a Par-meter for months now.

Like a crab in hiding I have put off joining OMAS (much to my detriment). Unless something awful happens I look forward to the next meeting and joining. Scott at AO is always prodding me to come out and meet everyone. I have a lot to learn and this seems to be the best way to do it.
