I shouldn't ask this.....but, what pump are you using to achieve this great result?

yep it makes life alot easier. one day i want be able to do it the mflamb way. pumps and switches in the garage. with water run through pvc to the tank for fresh saltwater, ato water and draining of old saltwater.

and if i can get another apex dc8 i can control all the pumps in the garage and the tank. so i can do a water change sitting on my couch. so all i would have to do is make sure to add the right amount salt and keep the fresh water full.

I use a Pan World model NH-150PS and it works pretty well. Takes a couple min to get 20 gallons thru but beats the hell out of buckets.

I love mine......Have not used buckets or jugs in years.....Also, it helps to keep the sand looking new as the day I put it in!

this is a noob question: is the water source from whatever you have setup as your RO holding tank?

So you just put a hose on a submersible pump and run it to your sumo when doing the water change?

What do you do as far as mixing the salt in?

Is it possible to have the entire water change process automated? from start to finish so you don''t have to do anything?

besides adding salt and checking salinity, yes it can be all automated.

float valves, switches, and pumps.

I'm just trying to figure out how to possibly set something up like that, my fish room is actually a half bath, it's really small, but I don't really use it so I thought about plumbing my RO unit there and putting a Brute in there, but that would be for the RO water, so this is as far as my knowledge goes....from that Brute full of RO water, where do I go?

What I guess I'm trying to figure out is will I need more than just the 1 Brute in order to do ATO, and water changes?

If you are only taking out water, how are you keeping your sand looking new if you never siphon through the sand?
