just my opinion i wouldn't mix to different poisons in the tank at once. plus the cyno can be cured with ro/di water changes good housekeeping and a big clump of cheato. that cleared my cyno up in a couple of weeks oh i also started dosing vitamin c that seemed to help kill the cyno as well

I think adding anything to your tank to get rid of cyano should be a LAST resort after you've tried everything else. You definitely don't want to be doing it at the same time you're adding the Tech M.
Regarding the dosing of liquid calcium, strontium, molybednum and iodine, do you have test kits to keep an eye on your levels? You're really not supposed to add anything to the tank that you can't test the levels of. I've been in this hobby almost two years and I still don't feel experienced enough to fool around with additives or chemicals in my tank. Be careful and practice patience.... most of your issues can resolve themselves with proper husbandry but it doesn't happen overnight. Good luck! Sue

Sue is correct about dosing those chemical elements (strontium, molybdenum, and iodine). Your salt mix already contains them in proper amounts. Additional dosing usually just fuels algae.
Concerning your "feather like plant", I have no clue. Sorry, I didn't catch that thread. |

As Sue says, proper husbandry will help. Do small water changes and stop dosing. You really need to test. I use Chemiclean for the red slime, it is non toxic to the fish and inverts. I've had very good results, and it works overnight. You must shut your skimmer off for 48 hours. Oh, also increase or redirect your water flow.

Feather like plant? It could be a feather duster! Do you have a pic?
