New SPS discovered!!

I think it is Acropora Eggcratata!!

Seriously, this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen
It is just a shame that as it continues to grow that it will lose some of the novelty as all of the branches come together.
I took this pic, but it isn't in my tank.

That is AWESOME. Whoever owns it should keep adding on eggcrate in various ways and see if they can get it to keep growing that way as it goes outward.

Getting it to cover a cube of eggcrate like that would be totally cool.

It makes me wonder why there are not more people growing coral in a true bonsai style. In the way that they grow toward light and flow and can easily be trimmed, some SPS could easily be molded and sculpted in to a lot of weird designs.

I have some corals with really bizarre limbs that are twisted from damage or from moving the coral.

It's a great way to farm frags actually. You can cut the eggcrate into numerous flat pieces that can be glued anywhere to start a new colony. Easy to cut and manage. Often, when cutting, the vibration can make the coral seperate off the eggcrate. Then you can glue the coral directly to a rock where it can encrust and form a secure based to grow from.
