good to hear that your new tailspot is fitting in well, and frodo poking his head out when you tap on the glass was too funny.
P.S seems kind of unfair that only 1 of the four nass snails has a name, playing favorites are we?
Thank you very much for the kind words
Didi is the only one named because he was the only nassarius that survived the crash! I googled warrior names and Didi was one of the names along with Turk and Igor. Spaz was also, and the only other critter that made the crash. The other nasarius are new and look all alike. Maybe I will name them just so they don't get a complex! HA! Thanks again!
Oh yea...isn't Frodo a hoot?!?!

Edit: They NOW have names....you made me feel guilty! just kidding.

Is it normal for frogspawns to close up? He's been closed mostly since yesterday morning. Could he be aggitated by my yellow clown goby hanging out on him? Or could it be too close to light, or too far away? Should I give it another day or so? Do they "shed" or excrete waste like this?
Thans for any advice!

uhhhhh, i dont think frogspawn "shed" but something could have just bothered it. sometimes my cinnamon clown decides it wants to sit on my small hammer coral, this bothers the coral for a little but eventually it re-expands. (my cinnamon clown is like the size of the hammer so idk if a tiny clown goby would bother it too much). things that have made my hammers/frogspawns/torches close:
-clowns
-too much flow
-hermit crabs
-water chemistry
-too much light
-other stinging corals

So I put my frogspawn where my red chili cactus use to be. It seems to be doing better. So now I don't know if its from moving it or not! I'm thinking maybe it was Zinger. Now that the frogspawn is on opposite side of tank, Zinger won't bother it, he never goes over there. So, I'm gonna give it a bit and then put it back to original spot and see if it happens again. I'd rather it be in original spot, but we can't always get what we want in this hobby!

Here is where the red chili cactus ended up after coralline disaster!
Can you see the King trying to make it in the shot? lol

He just had to say hi!

No worries, hopefully someone can help eventually!

SO..I have to ask! How are things over there? How is the Great Barrier Reef doing after the crash? Haven't heard much since the oil spill issues over here
On a happier note, do you get to see koalas all the time? They have to be one of my fav animals! They are soo darn cute, along with wallabies!! (spelling?) I want to come to Australia sooo bad!! Maybe one day! Do you have any awesome pics of them? You are so lucky!
Thanks again for helping us with names!!

to be honest, with all the time ive been spending researching and on these forums i havnt seen the news lately so im kinda out of the loop .

na we dont exactly have them crawling around in our backyards over here . i live in sydney and while they do occasionaly make their way into suburban areas, it doenst happen often and when it does, they are relocated back into bushland. they are very cute but their claws are VERY sharp. i have some photos somwhere but they are actual photos on film not digital so i cant post them sorry

if you do ever come to australia i think youd enjoy a visit to this place
http://sydneywildlifeworld.myfun.com...Experience.htm
its called sydney wildlife world and it has some impressive displays including letting you get up close to some koalas and number of different wallaby species. its right next door to sydney aquarium aswell so you can get a double pass to both

So after reading the thread, What does your tank look like?...

...I decided to upload some more pics. Thought that I should include them in here
So here is what my tank looked like when I first started 2 1/2 yrs ago:

Then a year in:

And now:

Now I just have to find the darn memory card to show you what my tank looked like right before the crash in 9/09, during the crash and then the beginning of this build Too many memory cards around!!!

So...I'm still dealing with issues with my frogspawn I don't know why he is soooo unhappy!! And noone has been able to help yet
My coral beauty still has HLLE, but I think its looking better. Fish solutions is def helping!! Will post pics later. Although, my tube corals hate the stuff which I don't get at all! Hopefully they will recover once my princess, Kora, is better!!!! IDK!!!

Oh, and my chili cactus still hasn't opened back up Its been only 5 days, but still!!!!

What's up with the frogspawn now? Thought it was doing better since you moved it? I've been through a couple of frogspawns and the things I've found that affect it are SG and calcium. Mine is in what I'd call moderate flow (branches gently sway) and about 1/2 way in my tank under 450W MH. As long as I keep the SG firmly planted at 1.026 & the Calcium around 400 he's happy as can be. I also spot feed it most days when I feed my fish.

I do have a QT, but not set up. Kora is doing good with the treatment. It is not actually a medicine but a vitamin supplement. Its suppose to be good for everyone in the tank. I think the tube corals are just being retarded. They put a few tentacles out at night, so I'm sure they'll be ok. If not, oh well. They are one of those things that are quick and easy to replace and will not cost me anything. They survived the crash, so I'm hopeful they wll be fine. If its not one thing its another right!??!
Hmmmm..as I wrote that and reread, I never put 2 and 2 together! Maybe the Fish Solutions is also what is upsetting my Frogspawn? But that just doesn't seem right. IDK...hmmmmm, no I'm really confuzzled!!!

I'm really not sure! He was happy for all of a day and a half. My SG stays at 1.025 and Calcium around 400 also. I haven't had any difficulties lately because my chili cactus has not been opening (hes a calc hog). The frogspawn will open up some (he's not full) and then an hour later have them fully sucked inside I've wondered if maybe the hermits were climbling on him, but 4 to 5 times a day? He's in med flow also. I don't know if I should move him back to middle of tank or not?

Frogspawn Issue Continues..

So, I just looked in the tank (lights are off) and my frogspawn, which looked like it was much worse off about two hours ago, is a little plumper.
When I first bought it, it had two heads with one of them starting to split. Well, the one finished splitting. The other one is now starting to split. Could this be the reason behind him not looking so good?

Things That go Bump In The Night

I wanted to show the Monster Bristleworm I have. I got lucky (kinda) and was able to get a shot of him. But unlucky cause I didn't catch him

The Monster...hope it can't hurt my tigertail!

Frogspawn still not doing well
Wondering if I should put him back here. (He is on sand on right side of tank now)
But if I put it here, will the yellow goby bother him? or help him?

What is your tank temp? Frogspawns are finicky about higher temps. They can develop brown jelly infections in higher temp ranges. Your doesn't appear to have any signs of infection, but a prophylactic dip in some Lugol's or another coral disinfectant may be a good idea. The spot you have it in, in that last pic, looks like it would be a good place. They prefer moderate to lower flow. Also, don't get too attached to that chili coral. They don't fare well in captivity. Long term success with those is limited.

Thank you so much for your feedback Suga Magnolia.

My temp is at 80. I would like to put him back there, but will my little yellow goby add more stress to him? I do have Coral Revive, would that be good to use?
I've had my chili cactus since the beginning (more than 2yrs) and he even survived my tank crash (which I was shocked about). So hopefully he will hang on, or maybe this is the end for him
