How much is to much

Is there such thing as too much Cheato for a fuge? When should you trim back Chaeto, can trimming it be beneficial?

It's simple: if your fuge is full, You should trim

when the ball becomes too tightly grown, the algae inside the ball no longer recieves light and begins to die, it turns to a liquid as the cells decompose, and the nutrients stored in the algae sells return to your system. by keeping it thinned out your algae will grow faster and take in more unwanted nutrients.

Try to get older portions and leave new growth. Usually that means trimming from the middle. +1 to ^^

if your not trimming it does no good, your not removing the po3 po4 out of the tank.

look at it as if it was a po3 po4 sponge because thats all it is, it gets bigger and needs to be made smaller to do its job
