Rose Anemone & Copperband
I have a copperband butterfly fish. Can I safely add a rose anemone to my tank?

Why do you feel to post this? I'm always curious with Nems and fishes..... Butterfly with nems???? Is there a problem you already seen? Seems my Clown do not like anything around them like Angel fishes. But others they are fine with.

Yes you can. My copperband coexisted nicely with my RBTA for over a year before by CBB died for other reasons.

Anyone have any other experience with this pairing? I am interested in adding a BTA to my tank but am worried about the copperband nipping at it. Although the copperband has shown no interest in the one aptasia I have.

I know of someone with a copper banded and he feeds it those cheap anemone's you can buy at petco for $7 once everyother week. They are also know for cleaning up aptasia so I can see the consern. Don't really know if it would mess with a RBTA though.

I kept a CBB in a 120 full of RBTAs for several yrs and never had a problem or the slightest sign of nipping or feeding on the nems.
That said, CBBs vary so my experience is no assurance that you couldn't get a CBB that did have a taste for nems.
