A lot of the threads are filled with a chalice the size of a nickel!

Not mine, but here's a more mature colony from the Aquarium of the Pacific. It's easily 4 feet across if not more (and I took this shot several years ago, so no clue how big it is now).

I have the same exact piece. Mine is around 5" around. It has 2" long feeding/stinging tentacles. Nice piece, took me a long time to figure out it was stinging other corals. I have to keep it somewhat isolated. |
