refugium light

I just finished setting up a part of my refugium that has green chaetomorpha algae in it. I placed a rock (not live rock, but i will get some soon + sand) underneather it. Anyway I went to HD and got a clip on light and placed a CF light in it 60w equivalent. The question is when and how long should I run the light? 24/7, match my day light in the tank, run it at night? Thanks for all the help, you guys have been so great!!!

Some people run them all the time, some 23 hours.

Personally I run my opposite my display lights. Helps balance out the PH a little.

14 hours a day

what ever time do you decide to put will be ok but most of the reefers prefers more than 12 hours
