war coral

My war coral is not looking good. Does this coral need special requirments? I have candy canes and acans that are thriving.
Thanks

My war coral is growing like crazy under normal LPS conditions. Lower placement in a well lite tank med-low flow and good levels of calcium, alk, mag. I actually have 2 colonies one in each tank and they are both good growers. Is something stinging it or something out of whack??

+1 for normal LPS conditions. They will bleach under too much light.

My Tyree LE Purple War Coral is sitting under 4 t5s in a 12" deep tank with moderate flow. It appears very happy there. Here's a pic of it from a while back:

I'm running 2 250 watt radiums. I just got it from a guy running old 175's. I have it on the bottom glass. My acan right next to it is full extension and very happy. Could be light shock but I'm hoping it recovers.

icdeadpieces (funny login!), the tank mine started in is the same height as yours and I run 400w MHs on that one. It started to bleach so I had to tuck the war coral in a cave and when it recovered I moved it forward slightly slowly over time. That's when I took the pic I posted above. Eventually I set up my lps tank (12" tall, 4 54w T5s) and it's been happy in there out in the open on the sand.
