NEW LED FIXTURE COMMING, NOW WHAT? help ?

so i just ordered the http://www.rapidled.com/servlet/the-...ium-LED/Detail.

and i did reading on it and everything.. but there is one problem. how do i light acclimate my corals?? they where just under a 72WATT PC fixture.

also i cant raise the canopy because i am screwing it into my old nano cube hood ( that has the PC lights in right now, ill change when i get them)

also, what would this light be equivalent to? a 150watt MH?

also my tank is the 24G nano cube by JBJ.

I pre-acclimated mine by making a shelf of egg-crate under the PC lights, and raising it up a little bit every few days until my frags were all about 2" under the surface of the water.

Then when the LED's arrived, I just put all the frags down on the bottom of the tank, and they responded very well.

Since you can't dim with that fixture, I would suggest cutting your light cycle in half, at least. Then slowly bringing it back up to the length of time it is currently at. Doing this in combination with moving all corals to the bottom that can be moved would be best.

Remember your not really going to hurt corals by giving them to little light, but you can definitely hurt them with to much.

Layers of Window Screening. Gradually removing layers should work. Best approach in my mind, instead of moving corals around (having to stick your hands in the tank).

I don't like the cutting the light period method, because that does nothing to scale back the intensity. It changes the exposure to intensity, but could still damage corals.

I really like the window screening idea. Saves a lot of effort with the moving.
